Chevron Racing Cars

Chevron History

What a wonderful Heritage Chevron has. Founder Derek Bennett was a true Engineering genius, a contemporary of Colin Chapman (Lotus) and Eric Broadley (Lola). He designed the first car he made and called a Chevron, the B1, to beat the Lotus 7. It did this comprehensively not in part because of the innovative independent rear suspension unlike the solid system on the Lotus.

Every model in the Chevron range has been a Race Winner and many times a Championship Winner. In the 1970’s the majority of Formula 1 drivers had competed in a Chevron. It is probable that since 1965 the Chevron marque has been mentioned in every issue of the UK Autosport magazine. The catchphrase ‘Always Win Straight out of the Box’ applies as nearly every Chevron has done just that, won on its debut. By continuing to hold the torch for Chevron today, having celebrated the 25th Anniversary and in 2005 the 40th Anniversary of the marque, the contemporary company; Chevron Racing Cars Ltd feel honoured to be part of the Chevron Family. The Legend Continues…

The Chevron GR8

The Chevron GR8 is the first new GT Chevron race car since the originals created by Derek Bennett during the 60's and 70's. It has all the great Chevron DNA, but with a modern interpretation and equipment to give a 21st Century race car experience.

The GR8 (GR = Gran Rapida) was designed by Paul Brown and Lester Allen (of Bentley and Aston Martin fame); is based upon the beautiful Chevron B8. We’re delighted to have also seen the GR8 recognised by Evo as their track car of the year in 2010, beating a very competitive and distinguished field. In 2011 the Chevron GR8 driven by Jordan Witt and Anthony Reid took the GTC title in the British GT Championship, while other examples have competed for class honours in the GT Cup and as part of the one-make GR8 Challenge series.

The car is now in the middle of the homologation process for the international GT3 certification. The FIA is going through the committee process at present and Chevron are hoping that FIA GT3 homologation will be cleared by March.

The car features:

Prices from £148,000 plus VAT (ex UK).
